In 2009, Pedro Quelhas and Cristiano Brito parted with their former musical project (Deep Cut), determined to venture on a new
project, featuring a new type of sound. Inspired by the rising northern
melodic death-metal scene, and by fusing that with multitude of
different musical influences that focused on mixing heavy and melodic
elements, the core of Moonshade’s sound was, thus, defined. Current
members Dinis Martins (guitarrist) and Ricardo Pereira
(singer/lyricist), and our former bassist Ruben, joined shortly after.
In 2010, the band's first demo, titled “The Path Of Redemption”, was
released online for free. Unfortunately, during the small tour designed
to publicize their first work, creative differences caused one of their good
friends and founding members, Cris, to part ways with the band, later
filled by Ruben, on bass.
In 2013, the vacant spot of bassist
was filled by Afonso Aguiar, and shortly after Sandro Rodrigues became
their new drummer. In 2014, this new formation the presented their newest EP,
Dream | Oblivion.
Dream | Oblivion is a story about a futile search for inner peace in a corrupted world. Each song reflects a new state of mind that begins in bleak enlightenment, followed by misery, a quest for solace, and finally, a fall into the pits of despair. Dream | Oblivion is an awakening that ends in the return to the conforting arms of death... our Goddess Eternal.
Dream | Oblivion is the search for a new type of sound that will
highlight their presence on the metal scene, and they hope that their songs of
anger and sorrow are as pleasing to you as they are to us.
