Enshine - (2013 - 2015) [ Full Discography] - Bandcamp Stream

BIOGRAPHY
Enshine is an atmospheric metal project that got its start in 2009 under the hand of Jari Lindholm (guitars, ex-Slumber, Atoma). Soon enough he teamed up with Sebastien Pierre (vocals) of Fractal Gates and Inborn Suffering fame, with Oscar Borgenstam (drums) and Siavosh Bigonah (bass) completing the recording line-up. Origin was over two years in the making and the production of the album was finished in the summer of 2012. After that, the band started searching for a label and finally teamed up with Rain Without End Records in December 2012.

Origin was released May 15th 2013 on Rain Without End Records.   if you look them up elsewhere and see that even though they’ve been around for four years they only have Origin to their name, you will know why. Quality does take time, and who knows what was happening behind the curtain that could stall an album recording? All we really know is what we have in front of us, which is an excellent hybrid of death metal and doom metal that spreads out enough melody and melancholy to make this an enjoyable listen.

Origin uses this as a foundation and builds outward from it, with Sebastian Pierre handling vocal and key duty whereas Jari takes guitar and wrote most of the instrumentation. They had help from other musicians — Oscar Borgenstam on drums, Siavosh Bigonah on bass, and Sandy Mahrer contributing the choral vocals when things really get grand and sweepingly dramatic.

With their debut album, Enshine present the listener a charming atmospheric metal journey full of lovely melodies and brisk ambient soundscapes. The album sounds like a perfect mix between Pierre's Fractal Gates (melodic death metal) and Lindholm's ex-band Atoma (atmospheric metal), as an airy and meditative atmosphere collides with tasteful melodic riffs. "A musical exploration of the world within" is the tagline the album is being promoted with, and it couldn't be more accurate, as Origin is a metal album for the thinking man.

Jari Lindholm is one of those musicians who surrounds himself with incredible talent, having been involved now in a handful of projects over the years  and beginning to find himself having multiple releases within one year. Two of the projects that he is a part of are two-man melo-doom groups. Though they lie on different sides of a very finite spectrum, both are still playing a brand of ethereal doom that has always felt decidedly European, even as more groups in North America seem to be mastering it recently.

The first release of these two-man collaborations hit earlier this year, with Exgenesis releasing its first EP in the form of the soul-crushing bleakness of Aphotic Veil. Exgenesis sees Lindholm paired with musician Alejandro Lotero for a project that spans a pretty good chunk of the globe.

October delivered the second release from the other two-man regime in the form of Enshine’s Singularity, bringing about the reunion of Lindholm and French musician Sebastien Pierre of doom groups Inborn Suffering, Cold Insight, and the decidedly faster and more experimental melo-death group Fractal Gates, as well as the creator of a handful of solo releases, including multiple covers of songs from the Mass Effect series of videogames.

Now this terrific twosome is back to uncork their next winter tested, Finland approved dose of ennui entitled Singularity. What it delivers is a hybrid of Slumber and my dearly departed Rapture – full of weepy guitars, beautifully trilling harmonies and monstrous death roars. Singularity is out since October 18 via Naturmacht Productions.
