Deity’s Muse - Convergence (Full-Length Album - 2016) - Bandcamp Stream

BIOGRAPHY
Deity’s Muse is a groove-driven rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa. The band is an absolute juggernaut live and has appeared on every major South African rock festival stage. Deity’s Muse have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with international bands such as Dead Letter Circus (Aus), Rise Against (US), Bring Me The Horizon (UK), Blind Guardian (GER), Oedipus (US), Unearth (US), Protest The Hero (CAN) Knorkator (GER) A ance (US) and Blindside (SWE). The current lineup has only been together since 2014.

In October 2012 Deity’s Muse took part in their first ever international tour where they performed at world famous venues such as The Viper Room in Hollywood and The 100 Club in London. In April 2013 the band shared the RAMfest main stage with international heavy-weights, Rise Against and Bring Me The Horizon.

In September 2013 Deity’s Muse played two shows with Australian rock legends, Dead Letter Circus at The Assembly in Cape Town and Krank’d Up music festival in Johannesburg respectively.

In August 2014 the band made their rst ever Oppikoppi Festival appearance. In September of the same year they performed on the main stage at Krank’d Up 2014 with Unearth, Protest The Hero, Newtown Knife Gang and others. In November 2014 Deity’s Muse embarked on a South African tour with Australian heavyweights, Dead Letter Circus.

Having spent most of 2015 locked away in pre-production for their next album, the band  embarked on the Satellites Tour which will also include an appearance at Krank'd Up 2015 with international stalwarts, 36 Crazy sts and Monuments.

On 23 September 2015 they released the first single form the album, a lush and atmospheric departure for the bandcalled, Satellites. Convergence was produced, mixed and mastered in Brisbane, Australia by Clint Vincent (guitarist for Dead Letter Circus and producer at VIN JAMES Music).

Produced by Clint Vincent (Dead Letter Circus ) ‘Convergence’ was released on 1st March 2016. A national tour has just been announced which will also see Deity’s Muse supporting Australian rock band, Karnivool on the Johannesburg leg of their South African tour on April 23rd at The Bassline.

Deity’s Muse, known for blending their lighter sound with metallic and progressive elements, have just released their fourth album titled Convergence. With Convergence now available the band have also released a second single, ‘Both Sides’, to follow ‘Satellites’ which the band toured in October 2015. The choice of using ‘Both Sides’ as the current single ties back to Deity’s Muse supporting Australia’s Dead Letter Circus whilst touring in South Africa.

“‘Both Sides’ is one of the oldest Deity’s Muse songs on Convergence. It took on a life of its own after we fleshed out a new arrangement for it in pre-production with Vinnie (Clint Vincent, Dead Letter Circus). The following night we played it live for the first time at Mercury Live in Cape Town, opening for Dead Letter Circus. It turned into this dynamic song with many layers. It’s got some heavier-sounding guitar tones in comparison to ‘Satellites’. It’s got meatiness, huge melodies, and I think a really good ‘push and pull’ vibe.” ~ Wayne Boucher (guitar/vocals, Deity’s Muse)
Wayne describes how, even with having taken more than two years to create Convergence, he and his band mates still appreciate how fresh the songs sound to them and are excited for their next tour to promote it’s release.

Convergence was recorded between drums and vocals being tracked by Ashley Lane at Loudmouth Studios, and guitars and bass by band members at home. Additional guitars and programming was recorded at Vin James Music in Australia by none other than the aforementioned Clint Vincent (Dead Letter Circus) who is also credited as mixing engineer and producer for the album, and final mastering by Ashley Mark Lane.

The captivating album cover artwork was created by local artist, Chris Valentine, also known for his delivery of The Drift‘s Dreams Of Deluge album art.
