GOD - GOD I (Full-Length Album - 2016) - Bandcamp Stream

Shrouded in mystery, we’re not sure who is behind the scenes of GOD.  All that we know is that GOD is a multi-layered progressive metal juggernaut waiting to be discovered by the metal community at large. Utilizing 4, 5, and 8 string bass guitars, 6-string and baritone guitars, and complex musical structures, the band creates a unique sound that differs greatly with each track. One of the most prominent features of GOD’s debut album GOD I is the emphasis on melody over bone crunching heavy metal. Of course, the music is plenty heavy.

Listening through the band’s debut I’m taken to a world of mystery and enchantment. Though the name might be off-putting to someone who might have hostility toward the concept of God or many gods, the lack of lyrics keeps the possibility of preaching at a maximum of 0 while allowing for an immersive musical experience built around various concepts pertaining to a higher power.

GOD is greater than the individual who felt led to create the concept of multi-layered progressive metal and as such wishes to remain completely anonymous. GOD utilizes the concept of "Inception" to induce thought into the listener through each song title and the project title itself.

GOD will challenge you to consider your life, death, existence, God, salvation, sin and more. Each song is released with a coinciding video to ask questions rather than force beliefs, opinions or ideas on the viewer.

As of August 22nd, 2016, GOD has begun releasing GOD I track by track with a music video coinciding with each video. The first track ‘God’ was followed by ‘Salvation’ on September 5th. The other tracks and videos continued to be released every two weeks until the album is completely available on December 25th.

GOD represents something greater than the one who was lead to channel this concept, this sound and this message to listeners all over the world. Due to the title, topics and reverence to the subject matter the writer- producer of GOD sincerely wishes to remain anonymous.

The Committee Announces New Album + Releases New Single

Foto de The Committee - band.

"Synthetic, Organic Gods" is the first single  from The Committee's upcoming album "Memorandum Occultus"that will be released on February 25, 2017 by Folter Records on a release show   (with Angelcorpse)@ Nuke club Berlin, the album will be avaliable in cd and vinyl.

In the winter of 2007 the roots of The Committee have been planted. It started with a one man project drafted by Igor Mortis. After the project remained dormant for some time, it accidentally was discovered by the drummer William A, who ( after some encouragement ) succeeded in forming a 5-soul strong musical collective. The demo "Holodomor" has been released in the beginning of 2013. The Full album "Power Through Unity" is released in February 2014 by Folter Records. Live shows have been confirmed for 2014 and further.

The Committee is a 5-soul strong collective of international members who dedicate themselves to the art of black / doom metal. The Committee does not conform or support ANY political ideology.  Some of the listeners find the topics of band very controversial, however rest assured! The aim of the band is to present historic facts in a new light and from a new point of view. The Committee is a collaboration. The band works with guest artists and vocalists in order to expand the boundaries of Metal.

The Committee began as a Black/Doom Metal collaboration. The sound can be described as deep and guttural with an appealing and hypnotic monotone character.  The expression of pure misery and suffering is prevalent throughout the whole ensemble. The band is focussing on creating a well balanced album that fits into a one concept, rather than a melange of separate songs. In order to preserve the original intended character and feeling of the music, sound effects and keyboards are kept to the bare minimum.

The Committee does not promote any political ideology and does not support any political side! The views of the band are pure pragmatic with an open minded interest towards the topics that are being displayed in the music. The Committee calls out towards unity and respect inside the International Underground Metal Scene with the realistic view of the current ( and future ) zeitgeist.

Into Infernus - The Sowing Tear (Single - 2016)

Into Infernus, founded early July of 2013, is the brainchild of Andrew Zink, PJ Mc Teirnan, and Eric Owen. The band is a collaborative project with members located in both America and Ireland. The music of VII, their debut album, was written in just 10 days. All lyrics/stories and vocals were written and recorded just 2 weeks later. The album was self-released August, 18th, 2013. One month after the debut - having only spent 12 days writing - the music of the 2nd album was already finished. The highly anticipated album, "The End of Eden" was released November 16th, 2014, exclusively though Hollowed Records. “The End of Eden” is a theatrical fairytale delivered in a symphonic and desperate musical styling.

Frey Valor, from the original album "VII", returns in one of ten brand new stories from the upcoming album, "GRIMOIRE", out December 16th, 2016.

Eye of Horus - Obsidian (EP - 2016) - Bandcamp Stream

A Canadian Death Metal band that hails from the industrious town of Edmonton, Alberta, Eye of Horus profess a global initiative, an industrious work ethic, and a love for their craft. A strict practise regime has shaped their live performance to be a tight, crushingly heavy sound that supports a melodically and vocally engaging performance. The band further draws the audience in with lyrical content ripe with elements of rich, visceral storytelling. But make no mistake, Eye of Horus delivers a death assault that bangs heads and evokes infernal nightmares. Eye of Horus is actively seeking shows and tours to add to their repertoire of accomplished artists such as; Exhumed, 3 Inches of Blood, Dying Fetus, Abiotic, Wretched, Havok, Bermuda, and Goatwhore.

Just take a moment and soak in that gorgeous cover artwork by the talented Federico Musetti, check out his other amazing pieces at (http://federicomusetti.daportfolio.com). Say what you will about Edmonton, Alberta-based death metal outfit Eye of Horus, but they are blessed with consistently high quality artwork gracing their covers that just screams modern death metal (and a love for mysteriously glowing towers.) Eye of Horus bills themselves as melodic death metal, and while there is absolutely a degree of melodic death influence in their songwriting, it's not the only sub-genre that springs to mind by a long shot. Obsidian runs a wide gamut of sound from melodic death to black metal, even tastes of what feels like deathcore from time to time, at the core of which is a solid foundation of slightly-blackened death metal. Obsidian is a step up in songwriting from the band's previous album Infernal Calling, somehow feeling more diverse in influences while being more focused in composition, a fine feat for any band zeroing in on their own signature sound.

‘The Nithing’ opens the EP with a creepy bubbling effect springing from your speakers and discordant picked notes before the double bass kicks in, shattering the eerie atmosphere and leading into the song proper. Bassist Andrew James is wonderfully high in the mix here, the snappy rattling adding solid layering under the tight guitar riffs, sometimes breaking out as the lead guitar takes an atmospheric break to soar before leading back into the second verse. ‘Unsolemn’ continues in a similar vein, adding a slightly blackened feel interspersed with pummeling palm-muted grooves and flirts with an almost deathcore vibe coming in around the 2:28 mark. Don’t worry, it works; and it’s brutal as hell.

‘Death Flourished in a Withered Grove’ is a standout track and closes the EP with a bang. Ripping right out of the gate with outright black metal assault, the track quickly morphs back into the EP’s signature discordant riffing. Pinch harmonics are used to great effect here as well as an excellent solo which is all too brief. It would be interesting to see Eye of Horus experiment further in this blackened direction.

Production on Obsidian is top notch, especially for an unsigned band, and simply oozes quality and attention to detail. The lead guitar tone is crisp and clear, soaring over rhythms and punctuating the riff changes with aplomb. Vocalist Kody Cecotka has mastered a wide range of growls and screams, always mixing up the styles and never getting stuck in a rut with his delivery. There is, perhaps, an over-reliance on layered vocals and processing effects, but it’s not overt enough to be a problem.

Overall, Obsidian is a solid EP, and the four included tracks show a marked improvement over Eye of Horus’s debut. - Review maded by Metalundercover.com ( Rating 8.5/10).

Dark Rites - Hall Of The Slain (Official Lyric Video - 2016)

BIOGRAPHY
Dark Rites is an international act founded by Randy (USA) and Wojtek (UK) in early 2016. Despite its members living in different continents, technology has enabled them to overcome all possible geographical obstacles. After playing in several local bands in the late 90’s and late 2000’s, Randy and Wojtek soon teamed up with Oskar (ex-Disrupted, Sweden), thus completing the line-up.

DARK RITES wear their multiple influences on their sleeve. Their upcoming, self-titled full-length delivers a fresh yet deadly combination of Death Metal, melodic lines and powerful riffs, combined with fierce Thrash Metal tempos, Heavy Metal solos and powerful vocals.

All of DARK RITES’ songs are strongly autobiographical, with lyrics inspired by the band’s beliefs, views and fascinations. Their common passion for metal music – in all of its different facets and sub-genres – really shines throughout the entire length of the record.

This is the Official Lyric Video for the Dark Rites song Hall Of The Slain. This song will be featured on their first album released on Sliptrick Records, which will be on pre-sale from 23rd of December 2016. Hard copies will be available from 23rd of January 2017.

We’ll have more information about the album nearer to release date. Watch this space!

Thread of Omen - In Die Luminis (Lyric Video - 2016)

BIOGRAPHY
Thread of Omen was formed in 2013 by founding members Calla Hamman, Jean Hamman, and Stian Etsebeth. Midway through 2014, after Steyn Lotter and Victor van den Heever joined and started playing shows locally. Most recently Matthew Cox joined the band to replace Jean Hamman on bass.

Thread of Omen began as 3 friends playing covers together and the idea of becoming a serious band was not always taken so seriously. After the current drummer joined the band, and many new songs were written, the band began to evolve into something with much more potential. This led to the joining of the current vocalist who added a new dimension to the music. After finalising and structuring the set lists the band decided to begin gigging on the Cape Town circuit. Thread of Omen was soon ready to enter the studio to start recording. The band's debut album titled 'Palace of the Fathers' was released  June 2, 2015.

Their debut album, Palace of the Fathers concept album that binds the metaphorical implications of living in a society where there is a small amount of very powerful and rich oppressors who set the rules and create the mechanistic system of worshiping materialism.Greek mythological figures are used to create our own story where a group of rogue warriors attempt to over throw the power enforced on them. The structure is melodic but focuses on technicality and classical, with a slight progressive influence to create an atmosphere of anarchy. Thread of Omen 'Palace of the fathers' promises to give you a unique and raw experience within the realm of fantasy.

Thread of Omen plays melodic death metal drawing inspiration from classic death metal acts and modern bands alike. Fast-paced music with a strong focus on melody, as well as heaviness which ultimately leads to a unique sound. Their songs are connected through stories and concepts which define and refine their music.

The band Thread Of Omen have been making some noise about releasing their second full length album almost immediately following the 2015 release of their Palace Of The Fathers debut.

No surprises here, they are at it again. The first single, Glory of What from their 2nd full length album received positive reviews and was featured in many popular known African metal blogs and was also included in top tens.

Their second single ‘Die Luminis’ is Latin for ‘day of the light’ (bet you all knew that huh?) Recorded with Neil Bezuidenhout and Stephen du Plessis from Moment of clarity. ‘Die Luminis’ is the second  sign of this as yet unnamed new offering becoming manifest which has just been finished and they would be planning a launch soon, at the moment they are focusing on making a solid comeback after their mini hiatus and they announced ex-Sabretooth member and drum teacher, Damian Rijkers taking the throne.
